The mint account tells you who may create more of a token and who may freeze a holder's token account. Those two authorities are not the owner of your balance.

One mint, one token account, ninety minutes.
The flagship sitting is the Token Account Desk Session with Han Seo-yeon. You send the mint address and the token account address beforehand. In the room you write supply, decimals, mint authority, and freeze authority before anyone mentions the balance. The middle of the hour is the token account itself: owner, amount, delegate, state, and close authority.
The fee is ₩120,000. The sheet you leave with is in your handwriting. A short recap follows by email within two working days.

Rent-exemption lamports and closing an empty token account
An empty token balance still sits in an account that holds lamports. Those lamports paid for rent exemption. Closing is how they come back.
How an associated token account address is derived
People send tokens to a wallet address and then wait. The SPL Token program expects a token account. The associated address is the usual way to find it.
